Gluten Free Restaurant Review: Niche, London

Gluten Free Restaurant Review: Niche, London

My favourite restaurant in general hands down is ‘Niche’. It’s a 100% gluten-free restaurant near Angel, London. The menu is ridiculously broad and I always feel as safe as can be whilst eating here. They offer brunch, lunch and dinner and serve a selection of drinks – including a few different gf beers! I’ve now been with three different people: my boyfriend, his sister and my best friend and they ALL say how amazing it is and how ‘you wouldn’t think it was gluten-free’! They also state clearly on their menu any allergy/dietary info next to each dish (e.g vegan, celery, milk).. On top of all of that, they won the Diner’s Choice Awards 2017, and if you fancy a theatre trip, it’s right next to the Sadler’s Wells Theatre.

The starter above is a selection of ‘NFC’ chicken which is their special fried buttermilk free range chicken, served with aioli and bbq dips. Along side it, parmesan and cheddar doughnuts served with the most delicious heritage tomato and red pepper compote in a cute jar (vegetarian). Unhealthy but worth it as Coeliacs can rarely eat food out like this!

Haven’t actually tried a different main course at Niche yet due to how tasty this was on my first visit. It’s called the ‘Smokey’ and it isn’t just gluten free, it’s also dairy free too! Oak smoked beef and pork sausages with paprika, black treacle, garlic & herbs. They are exclusively made for the restaurant by their butcher – served with garlic, parsley, olive and truffle oil mash, beer-battered onion rings and rich onion gravy.
