Gluten Free Product Review: Smooze Fruit Ices

What Are Smooze Fruit Ices?

Convenient freeze-at-home tasty pouches filled with fruit puree and freshly pressed coconut milk. Lots of you will be pleased to know that they’re gluten free. Not only that, they are soy, dairy and nut free.

These refreshing coconut treats are also suitable for vegans and approved by the Vegetarian Society! For those conscious of hidden ‘nasties’ in ice creams and ice lollies, these have no preservatives or artificial sweeteners.

Smooze is packed on a farm over the sea in East Sumatra where they have been harvesting coconuts and tropical fruits since 1986. They’re unlike some other brands because they are involved throughout the whole production process and aware of even the minor details such as seeding. This is something I personally admire as it promotes sustainability and freshness!

What do they taste like?

Smooze Fruit Ices come in 5 different tropical flavours; Simply Coconut, Coconut & Banana, Coconut & Pineapple, Coconut & Pink Guava and Coconut & Mango.

I was fortunate to try one of each flavour and the leader of the pack just had to the Coconut & Pineapple one for me, with Simply Coconut close second! It tasted of an actual Pina Colada without the alcohol (even though most taste mocktails anyway?!). It was the first one I tried due to a recommendation and it was a good decision. All of the other flavours are great in different ways. The one that didn’t ‘wow’ me as much was the Coconut & Pink Guava – but that may be because I had never tried Pink Guava itself before and it felt like it was suited to a more acquired taste!

Where can I find some for myself?

You can find ALL FIVE boxes of flavours online at Ocado here.

Sainsbury’s, Amazon, Holland and Barrett and many others also stock them!

You can contact them or find additional information on their Instagram page.

Thanks for reading. If you do feel like trying out Smooze, then I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. Especially with the weather brightening up now – but I don’t even think they need an excuse!
